Another year almost over!
Unfortunatley, we didn’t spend much time racing the RX7. Too many small things got in the way, but that didn’t stop me racing! Both my street cars got a run. My shopping trolley Applause still running mid 16’s after 200 000km on the clock, and my Falcon wagon tow car grabbed a trophy in March, and cracked the 14 second barrier a couple of months ago with a 14.949.
Wishing you all a very happy and safe holiday season, and see you at the track!

The Postponed J21 event is very close, 1st and 2nd of October in fact. If you’re not already excited, you should be!
The Jamboree team have had time to refine the already overloaded schedule, including an introduction of a street grudge class-do laps without the hassle of eliminations.
Records have been set recently, come and check out these record setting beasts!

7SINS RX7 is currently undergoing some more changes.
The motor is out, and being checked for any wear (and having a freshen up), and we are plumbing in a CDI system, as we are changing to run E85 fuel. We have been running a leaded racing fuel, and thought it time to change, as many racers are having success with this more environmentally friendly fuel, plus it is cheaper to run.
If everything runs smoothly, we should be tested and ready for this years Jamboree in Queensland.
Stay tuned!

In a strange turn of events the 7SINS tow car won Street Compact class at the Sydney Jamboree!
It’s a BF Ford Falcon wagon mkIII, it has no mods except for towing accessories. In manual mode and traction control turned off, and 3/4 tank of 95ron fuel, it rocketed down the 1/4 mile in 15.087 seconds at 88.47MPH (142KMH) - and I backed off at the end too! I had dialled in a 15.1 for the final, as it was getting quicker each run (previous run was a double break out with a 15.164 on a 15.23 dial in, against a Nissan Skyline, but I did it by the lesser amount). The problem was that the holden ute (yep Holden vs Ford) appeared to have won the race due to my break out, but had initially rear wheel staged at the start line, so the race director handed the win to me according to the “first or worst” rule.
I didn’t want to win this way, but that’s racing!

Unfortunately, 7SINS RX7 won’t be ready to take on ST289 this weekend.
We might do some laps in the SC class though.
The weather is looking fine so be there on time!

This Friday and Saturday, 18th and 19th March, Sydney Dragway hosts Track Championship 5, and the ANDRA Pro Series with Top Doorslammer and Prostock.
There are not many chances to test before Jamboree Sydney, so we will be making the most of it. Hope the rain stays away. We are the only rotary in a field of n/a V8’s in the Super Sedan class - not that’s anything new!
And this Friday is ladies free day! (free entry)
edit: event cancelled due to rain.

Sydney Jamboree 2011 is almost here. Less than 1 month to go before the worlds fastest sport compact drag cars hit the Sydney Dragway 1/4 mile.
Sunday, April 3rd is the big day to pen into your calender, forehead, or stick on the fridge door in the shed. There will also be trade stands, bikini comp and Jam babe competitions, show and shine to round out the hi-tech feast.

Yes it’s time! Weather pending, we will be blowing out the cobwebs and doing some laps down the Sydney Dragway strip.
A few minor mods to fuel lines to keep ANDRA happy are the only changes to the existing reliable package.
Plenty of racing ahead this year, so I need all the practice I can get. See you there!
edit: 3 passes in total. On the second pass I did a PB reaction time of 0.006 seconds. Re-occuring transmission gremlins should be sorted in the coming weeks.
